WOLFE, Ronald Kerry


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ August 27, 2007 Ronald Kerry Wolfe died Aug. 19, 2007. He was born in Lander, Wyo., Jan. 7, 1943. He attended school in Lander and graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School in 1961. Wolfe went to Orange County College in Los Angeles, Calif., for one year, before returning home to work at Wolfe Drilling. He joined the U.S. Army in November 1969. Wolfe went to Special Forces School and become a medic. He proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was wounded in action and was decorated the Purple Heart. He retired as a disabled veteran. After returning home he married Donna Sheopard. Their son Troy was born Jan. 14, 1976. He worked in the uranium mines in Jeffrey City, Wyo. He and Donna divorced in 1981. In April of 1987, Wolfe married Patt Brown (Kendall) of Riverton, Wyo., at St. Michaels Church in Ethete, Wyo. In 1988 he graduated from Central Wyoming College with an associate in nursing. His first job in nursing was at the Veteran Association Hospital in Salt Lake City where he worked for about a year and half. He and Patt moved to Phoenix where he transferred to the VA Hospital. He was employed at Maricopa Medical Center for several years until he transferred to the Durango Jail System as a registered nurse. In 1998 they moved again, this time to St. Johns. Wolfe worked at the Gallup Indian Medical Center Internal Medicine Clinic until his death. Wolfe enjoyed woodworking, gardening and rock hunting. He was a great nurse and will be missed by all of his patients who asked for him by name. He is survived by his wife, Patt Brown Wolfe; his son, Troy (Kalonnie) of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two brothers, Mick (Marge) and Kim, all of Lander, Wyo.; stepchildren Pam, Mitzi, Kevin, Eric and Marc; two granddaughters and numerous of stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and Kim's wife, Linda. A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 25, at the St. Johns City Park Lower Ramada.
