Raymond "Ray" H. Chandler, 86, died Aug. 25, 2007, at his residence at Villa Escudilla in Springerville.
He was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Fenton, Mich., to Theodore and Clara Hall Chandler. Ray served his country in the Navy Seabees in World War II. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He retired as a parts manager for the Ford dealerships, was a charter member of the VFW, a past commander at the American Legion and was a member of the Optimist Club of Springerville/Eagar.
Ray is survived by his wife, Jane, of 43 years; son Stewart of Michigan; daughters Pat and Shirley, both of Michigan; grandchildren Scott Knutson of Florida and Chris Knutson of New Mexico; brother Donald of Tennessee; sister Madelyn Bunning of Michigan; grandson Arlie Adcock of Santee, Calif.; and great-grandchildren Brian, Tristan, Isabelle Marie, Natalie, Christian and Ryeley.
He was predeceased by his parents, son Gary Hanson, daughter Lori Griffing and brother William Chandler.
A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post 30 in Springerville Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1:30 p.m.
