WHITTEN, III, Eddie Wayne


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 3, 2007 Eddie Wayne Whitten III, 20, of White Mountain Lakes died Aug. 25, 2007, at home. Eddie, a cook at Lil' Bit Saloon, was born Sept. 17, 1986, in Sturgis, Mich. Eddie and his mother moved to Phoenix in 1997, and he attended Royal Palm High School. In 2001 he met April Wright, and they married July 11, 2003. They made their home in Lakeside, and Eddie worked as a cook at Samurai Sam's. Eddie then enlisted in the Army and served through basic training, after which he was medically discharged. Following his discharge, they returned to Phoenix and he continued working as a cook. They moved back to the White Mountains in early 2007. Eddie collected hot wheels and enjoyed drawing, working on cars and skateboarding. He is survived by his wife, April Whitten of White Mountain Lakes; three daughters, Tatum, Serenity and Kailee of White Mountain Lakes; one son, Shawn, of White Mountain Lakes; father Eddie Wayne Whitten Jr.; mother Colleen Monroe of Phoenix; three brothers, Shawn Monroe of Phoenix, Jesse Woodward of California and Cody Whitten of Phoenix. Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. at Owens Mortuary Chapel located at 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low. Graveside service will be Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Lakeside Cemetery beginning at noon. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
