PEACHES, Leander

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 6, 2007 Leander Peaches of Cibecue went home to be with the Lord Aug. 28 in Phoenix. He was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Whiteriver. Leander is survived by his sisters, Darlene Tessay, Rupee Danford and Carmelita Childs; numerous relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teddy Peaches and Bertha Harvey; sisters Nannie Peaches Quay and Lena Peaches; and nephew Joseph Peaches Sr. A two-night wake will be held at his residence Thursday, Sept. 6, starting at 10 a.m. Home funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ernie Reed officiating. Interment will be at the Mountain Shadow Cemetery in Cibecue. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled the arrangements.
