Wickenburg (AZ) Graphic Friday, March 11, 1932, p 5 c 3 Matthew Thelen, who was called to Dearfield, Kansas, by the death of his mother six weeks ago, returned to his home last week. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Thelen and son, Kenneth, moved to the house vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Marhhall. The house is located on B street. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lakin (KS) Independent Friday, January 15, 1932 Katherine Feldman was born at Cole Camp, Missouri, July 7, 1862, and passed to her reward on January 4th, 1932, age 69 years, 5 months and 27 days. She grew to womanhood in Cole Camp and then took up her residence at Kansas City, where she met William F. Thelen, to whom she was united in marriage on December 9th, 1886. To this union were born eleven children, of whom two died in infancy. The nine living to mourn the loss of their mother are: Mrs Mary Cody, Edwardsville, Kansas, Jacoby H. Thelen, Webster, Kansas, Mrs Maggie Etchison, San Francisco, California, Mrs. Ruth Warren, Beverly, Kansas, Mrs. Gusty Warden, Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. Adelyne Bechtel, Deerfield, Mrs. Lily Magill, Clarkdale, Arizona, Mrs. Rose Dickens, Deerfield, and Matthew Thelen of Clementan, Arizona. There are seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters and one brother; her husband having preceded her in death. Mrs. Thelen was confirmed in the Lutheran Church when a girl and held her membership in that church until 1915, when she united with the Methodist Church at Deerfield. She was a faithful Christian woman, regular in her church attendance, and an inspiration to her family and friends.
