Benjamin Harry Miller Jr., 97, passed away at Queen Creek, on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 7, 1912, and was a Kearny resident for many, many years.
Working as a Maintenance Supervisor, Bennie was with ASARCO 42 years. He was highly skilled in metals and respected as a machinist and master mechanic.
As a left-handed bowler, he averaged 170, and enjoyed golfing and traveling about the countryside. Mr. Miller was a news reader, who kept up well with current events. He was known and loved in the community, mainly for his quiet, wise and friendly nature.
Two daughters and a son are living: Diane (Fred) Graham and Marilyn Britton, and Steven (Shirley) Hales. There are seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kearny. Interment was at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in East Mesa, where Mr. Miller was placed to rest by his beloved wife, Marie.
Griffith Mortuary assisted the family.
