COOK, Darrell Everett


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 26, 2007 Darrell Everett Cook, 71, died July 22, 2007, at his home in Eagar. He was born Dec. 31, 1935, in Phoenix to Raymond and Maxine Cook. Darrell served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1962. He worked as a sheet metal worker for 20 years and retired in 2002 from the Sheet Metal Union Local 359. His family moved to Eagar at that time. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Denise; sons Everett (Samantha) Cook of Eagar; Christopher Cook (Brenda Ball) of Phoenix and Joseph Cook of Eagar; daughters Marie (Eric) Strang of Bagdad and Katy Cook of Avondale; eight grandchildren; brother David (Anita) Cook of Glendale; and sister Nancy White of Sun City. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard "Dick" Cook. A rosary was held Wednesday, July 25, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Springerville. A funeral Mass was held Thursday, July 26, also at the church. Interment followed at the Veteran's Cemetery in Cave Creek. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled the arrangements
