The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 26, 2007 Carol Dickey Stalzer, 73, of Tempe died July 16, 2007. Carol was born Nov. 28, 1933. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a master's from the University of San Francisco. A professional cellist, she performed with the Phoenix Symphony. She taught elementary music, Christian education and directed children's choirs. She most recently taught theology at Cook College, a seminary for Native Americans. Extremely creative, she was a gourmet cook and loved to sew, write and paint. She celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband and family in 2006 at Mesa Verde. She is survived by her husband, Frank; sister Karen Fritts; daughter Barbara Pineda; son Mark; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, at 1 p.m. at Church of the Beatitudes, 555 W. Glendale Ave. in Phoenix.
