CONWAY, Patrick

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 26, 2007 Patrick Conway of Lakeside died at his home after a long-term illness July 22, 2007. Mr. Conway was born the son of John and Loretta Conway Aug. 22, 1928, in Del Rapids, S.D. He was a career Navy man and served on the Yorktown and the Coral Sea as a ship's barber. After retiring in the mid 1970s he bought and developed property in the Heber/Overgaard area. He was the owner of Conway's Firewood and a barber in the private sector for a number of years before retiring to manage his property investments. Patrick moved to Lakeside in 2004 where he lived until his death. He is survived by his two sons, Patrick David Conway of Cohoes, N.Y., and James Michael Conway of Topeka, Kan.; grandson Jeremy Conway of Topeka, Kan.; and brother Jerry Conway of Sioux Falls, S.D. He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Conway of Chicago, Ill. Funeral Services were held at Owens Mortuary in Show Low Wednesday, July 25, with a visitation one hour prior at the mortuary. Interment was held at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix on Thursday, July 26.
