Carl G. Remmel. Memorial services for Carl, 82, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, who died in an airplane crash Sunday (Dec. 28, 2003), will be Saturday at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 13658 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West, Arizona. The Rev. Franklin Greene will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date.

Remmel was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Elkhart, In. He retired to Sun City in 1981. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; 2 sons Carl Lee (Mickey) and Kim (Nancy) Remmel; and 2 granddaughters.

Remmel, a lieutenant colonel, was a fighter pilot in WWII and the Korean War and then served in the military reserve. Memorials may be given to the Experimental Aircraft Assoc. in Oshkosh, Wis.
