Brett Weaver left to be with his Lord Monday, Sept. 13, 2010. Brett was born in Phoenix on Dec. 30, 1968, to Joseph and Sally Weaver.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Sr. He is survived by his mother, Sally; his siblings, Steffannie (Jim) Hernandez, Joseph Jr. (Geri) Weaver and Kimberlie (Ray) Byrne; and his many loving nieces and nephews.
Brett was a graduate of Greenway High School, class of 1987, where he excelled in power lifting and wrestling. He attended Liberty University for one year on a wrestling scholarship.
He also served as a youth minister for one year at Christ Community Church. Brett left his religious endeavors and began a twenty-year career in the newspaper industry.
During his career, he served as circulation director for the Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff; The Hanford Sentinel in Hanford, Calif.; and The Kingman Daily Miner.
Additionally, he served as operations director for The Garden Island Newspaper in Kauai, Hawaii. Moreover, he served as publisher of The Winslow Mail for a brief period of time.
What's more, Brett designed and published Cheers Magazine, circulated in the Flagstaff area.
In the past months, Brett rededicated his life to Christ, and in the end, had made peace with God.
Brett will be missed greatly, forever-loved and cherished by all those he left behind.
His memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, at Christ Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Road, Peoria.
A small reception will follow at the church.
