BURSON, James Willburn


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Friday, September 10, 2010 James Willburn Burson, 81, of Goodyear, formerly of Flagstaff, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, in Goodyear. Mr. Burson was born May 17, 1929, in Des Moines, N.M. He served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Arizona in 1955 and worked as a high-pressure gas line welder for El Paso Natural Gas. Mr. Burson and his family lived in Flagstaff from 1975 to 1986. He was a member of Estrella Falls Baptist Church. Mr. Burson is survived by his wife, Glenda Burson; daughters Patricia (Larry) Phillips and Treva (Don) Griffin; sister Alberta Corley; brothers Gene Burson, Chester Burson and Burnell Burson; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Glenn Burson. A service was Sept. 7 at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
