KEELER, Annette C.

Indian School Mortuary, Scottsdale, Arizona Annette C. Keeler passed away after a long illness on September 12, 2010. Annette was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and terrific friend. She was a strong woman of faith known for her intellect and great sense of humor. Proceeded in death by loving husband Duane C. Keeler; she is survived by sons James, Thomas (Heather) and daughter Patricia Janison (Douglas), three grandchildren, Caitlin Tess Keeler (3 yrs), Cooper James Keeler (8 mos), and Alice Jane Janison (6 wks). Annette, daughter of Felix Belanger and Alice Marsten; younger sister of Mary Alice Samerdyke (deceased) and survived by Robert Belanger, Avon Lake, Ohio. Born in Cleveland, OH in 1935, Annette graduated with a degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University in 1957 and resided with family in Scottsdale, Arizona, beginning in 1989. Annette will be greatly missed by all those who have been blessed by knowing her. Annette's friends and colleagues grew through her involvement with the scientific journal, "Evolution," where she was the managing editor at Arizona State University for 18 years until retirement in June of 2007. Annette was an avid sports fan following Ohio State Buckeyes Football, the Cleveland Browns and Indians; and was a member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association, the Phoenix Buckeye Club, the Arizona State University Club, and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Annette was dedicated to family and friends. We've lost a wonderful wife, mother and friend too soon. Each of us has indelible memories of interactions and special moments. Each of us will lose a part of ourselves, but all of our lives have been immeasurably enriched by having known her. A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Scottsdale, AZ., Thursday, September, 16 with a burial at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Phoenix, AZ.
