SHARP, Travis Elson


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ August 9, 2007 Travis Elson Sharp, 80, longtime Coolidge resident died Aug. 4, 2007. Mr. Sharp was born May 4, 1927, in Mount Vernon, Texas, and grew up in Peoria. He graduated from Peoria High School and attended what is now Arizona State University. He served honorably in the Navy during World War II. He and his wife of 60 years, Roberta, moved to Coolidge with their three sons in 1956. He was a business owner and community leader in Coolidge, including participation as a member and officer of various service and community organizations. In addition to his wife, survivors include his sons, Mike of Lake Havasu City, Pat of Coolidge and Danny of Oro Valley; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church in Coolidge.
