Joanne Wilson, 70, of Pinedale died Friday, Aug. 10, at a Phoenix hospital.
Joanne was born Oct. 15, 1936, at Sayre, Pa., the daughter of Gerald W. and Eloise (Cole) Welliver. She was reared and graduated from high school in Herrickville, Pa. She was married to Tex Wilson on June 15, 1962, at Tunkhannock, Pa. They came to Arizona in 1967, settling in Scottsdale. She came to Pinedale in August 1987.
She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed gardening, reading, her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Pinedale Garden and Improvement Association and the Burton Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Terri Mully, and two sons, Christopher (Shirley) Wilson and Jeffrey Wilson, all of Pinedale; a sister, Virginia Stein, of Ogden, Utah; two brothers, Gerald D. Welliver of Connor, Mont., and Eugene Welliver of Vancover, Wash.; two grandchildren, Jolene (Stacey) Perkins of Little Rock, Ark., and Jason (Sabrina) Wilson of Linden; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Autumn, Bobbi and Jace Wilson, all of Linden, and Kaylen and Jadyn Perkins, both of Little Rock, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandson, Bobby Joe Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Burton Baptist Church with Pastor Cecil Rogers and Gene Welliver officiating.
