MCMENEMY, William Alexander (Bill), III


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ August 13, 2007 William Alexander "Bill" McMenemy III, 57, of Lakeside died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at RTA Hospice and Palliative Care in Lakeside. Mr. McMenemy was born Jan. 16, 1950, in Pasadena, Calif., son of William and Shirley Mae (Moss) McMenemy Jr. Bill was raised and attended school in La Puente, Calif., and Safford. Following school he enlisted in the Marine Corps and spent time in Okinawa. Following his military service he moved to Hawaii and worked in construction. He returned to the mainland in 1976 and began driving trucks. In 1980, he met the love of his life, Vivian Plett, and they married Aug. 15, 1981. Following their marriage, they made their home in Placentia, Calif. They moved to Arizona in 1998 where Bill worked for Praxaie, then Dats Trucking in Show Low. Bill loved the White Mountains, where he enjoyed amateur photography and astronomy. Bill is survived by his wife, Vivian; daughter Teri (Tim) Shelton of Safford; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Jennifer Patzke of Safford; two sisters, Shawn (Jerry) Wood of Gaithersburg, Va., and Grayne (Brett) Nave of Sequim, Wash.; and brother Michael (Debbie) McMenemy of Santa Cruz, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Black's Mortuary Chapel in Show Low.
