STORY, Valarie

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ August 13, 2007 Valarie Story, 65, of Show Low died Tuesday, Aug., in Show Low. She was born Nov. 16, 1941, in Deming, N.M., the daughter of John and Almerdia (Lankford) Mathews. She was reared and attended school in New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma. She married Jack Story at an early age. They lived most of the time in Texas and Arizona. She came to Show Low in 1990 and was employed as a department manager at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Valarie is survived by six sons, Randy (Christine) Story of New York; Rodney and Dale Story, both of Show Low; Tod (Teri) Story of Baton Rouge, La.; Ronnie and Johnnie (Gwendolin) Story, both of Show Low; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary, Show Low.
