Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, Scottsdale, Arizona Judy Hancock, 84, of Scottsdale AZ. went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 22, 2010. She passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Valley, Sherman Home, with her family by her side after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. She was born in Jacksonville, FL. to Hobson and Mamie Denmark, the youngest of 6 children. When she was a young girl her family moved to California where she would meet the love of her life, Gene Hancock. At 16, she pointed out the handsome, young man across the street to her stepmother and said, I'm going to marry him one day. After a four month courtship Gene and Judy were married in Las Vegas, NV on Aug. 2nd 1942 before residing in AZ where their 68 year journey began. Along with her husband, a third generation Arizonan they founded Cavalier Homes where she handled the interior design. This was an incredible partnership for many years. When they sold the company they built their dream home. in Pinnacle Peak, where they retired and took pleasure in spending time with family, entertaining friends and watching the city views and beautiful sunsets. Their home was the site of many celebrations, including unforgettable Christmases, weddings and family gatherings. Mom was all about family and friends. The two enjoyed jeeping, fishing and motor home trips across the country, Alaska, Canada, Mexico and vacations throughout Europe. She liked watching polar bears in the Northwest Territories as much as snowmobiling in Pinetop, AZ. T hey criss-crossed the globe from the North pole to the South Pole. She enjoyed all sports, especially baseball games where she loved to cheer on her boys. She lived life to the fullest and her family was the love of her life. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she instilled compassion, selfless love, and the virtue of a giving heart. She was always thinking of and helping others. She is survived by her husband, Gene, three sons, Skip (RaeDeanne), Rick (Brenda), Greg and her adopted daughter Lucy (Rex), twelve grandchildren, Kelley (Scott), Kerri (Jeff), Casey (Carrie), Michael, Hunter, Hayden, Heather, Brooke, Brittany, D.J., Tracey and Laura. GiGi is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Hailey, Matt, Amy, Jack, Riley, Ben, Cole and Laurel. Mom always said to us when we were saying goodbye, remember the 3 B's, lovingly known as Be Sweet, Be good, Be Careful, so mom as we say goodbye for now, remember the 3 B's. We love you and you will be missed dearly.
