Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Monday, September 18, 2010 Russell Alan Nyland Sept. 27, 1967 — Aug. 28, 2010 Russell Alan Nyland was born September 27, 1967, in Seattle to Alan J. Nyland and Claudia A. Nyland. Russ attended various schools in Monroe and Snohomish, Wash. Russ had a passion for speed and adventure. Russ loved boating, snowmobiling and off-roading. When Russ participated in these sports a “Loop” was guaranteed. Russ loved to BBQ whether at home, at a friend’s home, or on the trail. Russ began working in the floor covering trades with his father in 1983. In 1997, Russ and Debbi opened Valley Interiors in Cashmere, Wash. In 2005, Russ moved his family to Lake Havasu City, to operate the Sea Tow franchise on Lake Havasu. Russ was also the national sales director for Hot Boat magazine. Russ was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashleigh Marie Nyland; mother, Claudia Shannon; grandparents; uncle; and father-in-law. Russ is survived by his wife, Debbi Nyland; son, Derek Nyland; aunts; uncle; cousins; nephews; niece and many close friends. Russ will be missed by all. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Nautical Inn Conference Center, Lake Havasu City.
