James Newhold Duncan
It is with deep regret and loving memories that we share the passing of our beloved family member Sept. 13, 2010. Jim was born Oct. 12, 1921, to James C. and Elsie Duncan in Wichita, Kan. He attended East High School and Wichita State University. He went into business with his father in the livestock commission business at the stockyards in Wichita, Kan. At the time of his father’s retirement, Jim and his family moved to Lake Havasu City. Jim was very active in the Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Moore Council and held several offices including that of Grand Knight. He had a particular devotion to Our Ladies Rosary and prayed several rosaries every day.
Jim was interested in all sports, and you had only to mention bridge to him and you had an eager participant.
Jim is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a cousin and many dear friends (especially his bridge playing buddies and fellow brothers in the Knights of Columbus). Jim and his wife have lived at Fellowship Square in Mesa for the last few years.
A Rosary will be said at Queen of Heaven Funeral Home, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85204, at 7 p.m. today. Funeral Mass will be at St. Timothy’s Catholic Community at 1730 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Reception to follow.
