PROVENZANO, Salvatore (Sam)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ June 28, 2007 Salvatore "Sam" Provenzano, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the RTA Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Lakeside. He was born April 7, 1920, to Angelo and Sarah (Pollaro) Provenzano in Rochester, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Mary Provenzano of Pinetop; daughter JoAnn (Harvey) Jones of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren Sara Darr, Tyler Darr and Emily Darr, all of Columbus, Ohio, and Jeff (Calea) Morissette and Tom (Billie) Morissette, both of Boise, Idaho; six great-grandchildren; sisters Mary ViTanza of Agoura Hills, Calif., and Grace (Bill) Puntar of San Diego, Calif.; brother Anthony (Ernestine) Provenzano of Seattle, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Angelo Provenzano; parents Angelo and Sarah; two sisters, Emily Digiralmo and Josephine Cali. Following the memorial Mass, a gathering of family and friends will convene at the Mogollon Rim. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to RTA Hospice and Palliative Care, 1789 W.
