He passed away July 9, 2007, in Show Low. To those of us who loved him, he was always Joey. His name, Joey Young, was perfect for him because the Joey we knew was young for his age and imbued with an innocence that was both sweet and troubling because he was a little human sponge. We wanted him to absorb all the good and spiritual aspects of life without picking up the negative darkness that is all around us in today's world. He had this shy grin when he was talking about things that interested him, and when he was trying to explain the fantastical images which he saw or imagined. We love you Joey! Joey is survived by his parents, DaRon and Chris Lewis, of White Mountain Lakes; older brother Charle Young of Show Low; little sister Annamarie Lewis of White Mountain Lakes, and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Audrey Kisselburg of Ardmore, Okla. Joey was preceded in death by his father, Troy Young. A celebration of life for Joey was held July 14 at 10 a.m. at Silver Creek Mortuary. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled the arrangements.
