OURSLER, Raymond Lee


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, September 23, 2010 Raymond Lee Oursler of Lake Havasu City passed away on Sept. 12, 2010, in Las Vegas with is wife and sons by his side. He was born April 13, 1932, in Indianapolis to Raymond H. and Ona Oursler. Ray, as he was known to his family and friends, married his beloved wife, Jean, Sept. 10, 1956. Ray joined the United States Navy in 1950 right after high school. His tour ended in 1953. Ray attended Indiana University, where he graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in business and history. Ray spent 32 years working as an account executive for Honeywell Corp. located in La Palma, Calif. He retired in 1992. Upon retirement, Ray and Jean traveled the country in their motor home, always making new friends wherever they stopped. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends. Ray loved to spend time with his friends and family. He was always looking for a good time. Ray always needed a task to do, regardless of size. Ray is known for his passion for politics and his sense of humor. Ray is survived by his wife of 54 years, M. Jean Oursler of Lake Havasu City; his sons, Michael L. Oursler of Wildomar Calif., and David R. Oursler of Laguna Niguel; his daughters-in-law, Caroline Oursler and Domenica Oursler; and his four grandchildren, Raymond, Isabella, Joseph and Soren. There will be a celebration of Ray’s life at 5 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Lakeridge Estates Clubhouse, 2270 Canterbury Lane, Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86404. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans Administration.
