Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Friday, September 24, 2010 Alice M. Cancino, 77, of Flagstaff, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Flagstaff Medical Center. Mrs. Cancino was born May 12, 1933, in Alameda, N.M., to Miguel Montano and Selsa Saiz. She was married to Louie Cancino and they celebrated their 56th anniversary in August. She and her husband owned and operated Flagstaff Rewind for 30 years, and she went on to retire as secretary to the president at Northern Arizona University. She was a longtime member of the United States Bowling Congress and Arizona Bowlerettes, where she competed both locally and nationally in various tournaments. She enjoyed and was very talented in tole painting. In the later years, Mrs. Cancino excelled at loving her grandchildren and enjoyed attending all their activities. Mrs. Cancino is survived by her husband, Louie; children Angela Gallagher, David (Dahna) Cancino and Diane Cancino; brothers Johnnie Montano and Mike Montano; four grandchildren; one niece; two nephews; and many other bereaved family members. Holy Rosary will be recited Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church with a funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com.
