ROBERTSON, Barbara Ann

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 24, 2010 Barbara Ann (Bunch) Robertson, 82, a third generation native of Phoenix, passed away Sept. 15, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara attended Creighton Elementary and North Phoenix High School. She received her masters from ASU. Her love for reading inspired her to obtain her reading specialist degree. After school, she taught for several years in the Baltz and Kyrene Elementary School Districts. Barbara met and married the love of her life, Frank Robertson in 1949, while attending ASU. Together they raised three children. Barbara was actively involved in the Phoenix Cotton Wives and served as president of the organization. She devoted her retirement years to spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, who passed away in 1983. Barbara is survived by her children Frank Robertson (Cynthia) of Phx, Ann Stefaniak (Mike) of Show Low and Carol Robertson of Phoenix. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Alicia Brunk (Branden), Megan Vandergeest (Blake), Lindsey Olson (Matt), Kyle Robertson, (Cassie) Dina Balzano, Scott Stefaniak, David Robertson, and two great-grandchildren Taylor and Mike Brunk. Barbara was an excellent example of showing unconditional love to anyone within arms reach. A memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced by the family. Barbara’s legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley or to the American Cancer Society.
