The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 12, 2007 Bertha Johnson Velasques-Dale Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and relative went to be with the Lord Monday July 9, 2007. She was born in Whiteriver Nov. 13, 1926. Bertha resided in Whiteriver across the Old Jack's trading post. She is survived by her husband Johnny Dale; her only child Rosalind Velasquez-Altaha; son-in-law Edmund Altaha; three grandchildren Michelle Altaha, Dezi Rae Altaha, and Joseph Altaha; three great-grandchildren Joseph Henry Jr., Malik Henry, and Jasmine Childs-Altaha, and many relatives she had raised and loved. A one-day wake begins Friday, July 13 at 10 a.m. at Johnny Dale's residence. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 14 at 1 p.m. at the Ft. Apache Branch Chapel The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will be in the Canyon Day Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
