The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 12, 2007 Ray B. Garcia, a longtime resident of Pinetop-Lakeside, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at the age of 57 from complications of cancer while on vacation in Lakeside. He was born in McNary. Ray graduated from Blue Ridge High School. He worked at the McNary Mill and Apache railway. He moved to Oregon and worked as a meat cutter for many years. He is survived by his wife, Layne; mother Velma; daughter Melanie; three stepdaughters; grandchildren Amariah, Avianna, Asiah, Ashley, Aaron, Alexandera, Phoenix and Ramsey; brothers and sisters, Eli, Peggy, Fabian, Larry, Cynthia, Eric, John; his grandmother, Inez Baca; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14 at Calvary Chapel, 2879 Rainbow Lake Drive in Lakeside.
