Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ September 29, 2010 Delbert E. Porter, 78, of Flagstaff, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. Mr. Porter was born April 27, 1932, in Maywood, Calif., to Ernest and Lola (Robinson) Porter. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea from 1950 to 1952. He worked for the Los Angeles Times as a supervisor in the machine shop. He was a life member of Flagstaff Lodge No. 7, Free and Accepted Masons of Arizona, a 32nd degree Mason, a charter and life member of the Scottish Rite of Santa Ana, Calif., a life member of Al Bahr Shrine in San Diego, Calif., and an Ambassador Emeritus. He was also a Past Patron of Grand Canyon Chapter No. 4, Order of the Eastern Star and Past Patron of Whittier chapter No. 444, Whittier, Calif. He belonged to the Flagstaff R.C. Flyers Club and liked to build radio-controlled airplanes. He was a machinist and had a shop at his house and did machine work for friends. Mr. Porter is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rose Marie; son Glenn Porter; daughter Katherine Perkins; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N.
