Richard D. Hinton died June 14, 2007, in Lakeside following a year long illness.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., in 1932. Richard spent four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard a destroyer. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks for over 25 years and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a bus driver for the Show Low School District. He spent many years coming to Show Low before moving here from Lake Elsinore, Calif. ten years ago. He was an avid fisherman and a great pool shooter.
Richard leaves behind his beloved wife of 25 years, Gloria of the home; four sons David of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Brian, Jeffrey and Michael; daughter Cynthia Hinton of Telluride, Colo. and daughter in law Tammy Hinton of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; stepson John (Stephanie) Barwicki of Show Low; three stepdaughters Robin King of Encinitas, Calif., Kathleen Mulder of Show Low and Johanna Sayegh of Show Low; seven grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.
No services are planned.
Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary, Show Low.
