Larry Vance Muder died June 14, 2007 at his home in Shumway, surrounded by his family. He was 78.
He was born Feb. 14, 1929, in Shumway to Edward Kly and Rhoda Inez Perkins Muder. He grew up in Shumway and has lived the majority of his adult life there. He married Roberta Joan Bennett July 2, 1954, in Phoenix. They were later sealed in the Mesa Temple. Roberta died in 1996. He married Barbara Kay Vincent Dec. 12, 1997 in Taylor. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an active member of the Taylor LDS 4th Ward. He served the church in many capacities.
After high school, he served a mission to Alberta, Canada. In 1950, he enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. Larry was an accomplished carpenter. He built houses for many years and then he went to work for Southwest Forest Industries. There he worked on the train and later in planning.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Shumway; three sons Vance (Michelle) Muder of Taylor, Matthew (Tiffany) Vincent of Utah and Brent (Ryan) Vincent of Utah; seven daughters Ronna (Wayne) Martineau of Utah, Debbie Muder of Shumway, Louyre (Darin) Treadway of Phoenix, Louise (Rob) James of Queen Creek, Kim (Dale) Sanders of Shumway, Nellie (Dennis) Owens of Shumway and Suzette (Rob) Verdine of Utah; 37 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and his wife, Roberta.
Funeral services were held in the Taylor Love Lake Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints Monday, June 18. A viewing was held two hours prior to the service and the evening before at Silver Creek Mortuary.
Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled the arrangements.
The family wishes to acknowledge RTA Hospice for their support and devotion, especially Cass and Essie.
