POTTER, Bob

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ May 10, 2007 Beloved brother, Bob Potter, pierced the veil of immorality Friday, May 4, 2007. He died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lakeside. He was born in Schenectady, N.Y., Oct. 28, 1936. Bob was a "jack of all trades" and a no-nonsense individual. He was a great husband, father, brother and confidante. He found humor in his storytelling and always loved fishing. Bob's family members and support group who were with him throughout his battle with cancer were beloved Linda Van Deman; his brothers-in-heart Mike and Dee Van Deman, Rip and Marylou Van Deman, Ronda, Doug, Joshua, Gunnar and Jace White. He was a longtime, valued friend and employee of Dan and Jan Esch, owners of Blue Diamond Home and RV in Wagon Wheel. Everyone there already misses him. He is survived by devoted wife, "Bunny" Riley; stepson Chuck Fisher; and granddaughter Cloe Weiser-Fisher; daughter-in-law Danielle Weiser-Fisher; brother Bill Holbrook; brother and sister Dan and Suzanne Hayashi. In the words of Bob's devoted wife, Bunny Riley: "Fly my love. Soar and be free now. You have been courageous and brave in the face of adversity. You have taught me strength and taught me well. Now I will be brave for you. I will miss you for all eternity but, now that you are lifted in spirit, we are both at peace now. Although life sometimes promises suffering, our love and happiness was the gift that stayed the brief storm. Bob's spirit yet guides and accompanies all his friends and loved ones. The twinkle and laugher in his eyes along with his presence are sorely missed. As Bob would want, let us all be joyous in his launching." For those who would like to do something in Bob's name, donations can be made to hospice and/or the cancer society in Bob Potter's name.
