ZELLNER, Mary Leona (Grouch)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ May 14, 2007 Mary Leona 'Grouch' Zellner Mary Leona "Grouch died May 9, 2007, at her home in Show Low. She was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Hico, Texas, to Archie and Ludie Mae Leitaker. She was a life member of VFW Auxiliary to Post 9907 in Show Low. She was known most for her work with the Christmas baskets for the needy program and for her work in managing the kitchen for various functions. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, son and husband. She is survived by her children, Joe (Merrilane) Zellner, Anna Mae (Byron) Stafford, Mary Ann (Jess) Burns and many, many other people who called her "mom." She also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by many. Services were held at the VFW Post 9907 in Show Low at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Arrangements were handled by the family.
