LEMIEUX, Kevin Michael (Pops)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 5, 2010 Kevin Michael Lemieux (or ‘pops" as he was known by his boys) of Lakeside died Sept. 19, 2010 at the age of 56. He was born and raised in Rolla, ND. Kevin was a dedicated father and commissioned officer public health service provider. Twenty-five years of his career as a pharmacist was devoted to providing pharmacy services to Native Americans through the United States Indian Health Services. Twelve of these years were spent at the US Indian Hospital in Whiteriver, where he formed deep and long-lasting friendships with many members of the White Mountain Apache Tribe. In 1993, he transferred to the Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix and retired in 2003. Shortly thereafter he returned to his home in the White Mountains. In 2003, Kevin was recognized as the Indian Health Service National Pharmacist of the Year. Kevin is survived by his two sons, Andrew (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Joseph Lemieux of Phoenix; mother Ella; brother Craig; nephew Patrick; and niece Paige of ND. Services have been held.
