Stanton G. Golliher, 85, of Flagstaff, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, in Flagstaff.
Mr. Golliher was born March 24, 1925, in Buckner, Ill. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II from 1942 to 1945 aboard the battleship U.S.S. Alabama (BB-60). He retired as a chief master mechanic with the Local 428 Operating Engineers.
He belonged to the VFW and American Legion Post in Flagstaff, the Local 428 Operating Engineers and the Battleship Alabama Commissioning Crewmember Association. His special interests included traveling to see his grandsons and great-grandchildren with his son, Mark.
Mr. Golliher is survived by son Mark; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois M. Golliher, in 2005 at the age of 83 in Flagstaff.
A service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Citizens Cemetery in the Veteran's Section. Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior fund via the American Legion Mark A. Moore Post No. 3.
