Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, October 6, 2010 Kathryn K. Kester, 87, passed away at her home in Lake Havasu City Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010. She was born Aug. 4, 1923, in Upton, Ky., to John and Dona Gardner Kinkade. Kathryn resided in Long Beach, Calif., for 25 years prior to moving to Lake Havasu City 21 years ago. She was a member of the Eagles. Kathryn deeply loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her friends, for whom she loved to bake. “If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys.” She will be greatly missed. Kathryn is survived by her two sons, Kenneth R. Platt and Charles R. Platt; sister, Mayola Monroe; brother, Howard Kinkade; grandchildren, Beth, Dona, Kenny, Jeff, Sherri, David and Chuck; and 16 great-grandchildren.
