COOK, Quentin Payne


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona May 5, 2005 Quentin Payne Cook Quentin Payne Cook, 78, of Congress, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, in Peoria. He was born Aug. 13, 1926, to Archie T. Cook and Florence Hasselstrom in Phoenix. Quentin was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran who served in the Pacific. He was a former Eagle Scout and a Scout Master. He was a church leader and was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. Quentin was very active in the Republican party and served as a precinct committeeman, as an area director, and also Chaplain for the Republican party of Yavapai County. Quentin is survived by his wife, Mandy C. Cook of Congress; sons, Arthur and Steve Cook; sister, Mary Helmhout; brothers, Archie and Boyce Cook, and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held today, May 5, from 5 until 7 p.m., at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., in Prescott. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 6, at 11 a.m., with a one-hour visitation prior to the service at the First Baptist Church, 22050 W. Sunrise Rd. in Congress, with Pastor David Litzenberger officiating. A graveside service is to follow at the Congress Community Cemetery, with Rev. Ron McMillin officiating.
