The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona August 21, 2005 Geraldine Wonona Hammon Geraldine Wonona Hammon, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, went to the Lord at age 81 in her Prescott Valley home on August 18, 2005. "Jerri" is survived by her loving husband, Roy B. Hammon, of Prescott Valley; brother, John K. Ham and wife Shirley of Houston, Texas; daughter, Nonie Hartzell and husband Bill, of Prescott Valley; son, Terry Hammon, wife Anna Marie of Peoria and Groom Creek; son, Roy B. Hammon of Mesa; grandchildren: Christopher Hammon, wife, Melissa and children Preston and Hannah of Glendale; Matthew Hammon, wife, Sandie and children Tyler and Mason of Glendale; Billy Hartzell, wife Heather and children Ashton and Colton of Avondale; Misty Lee Ventura, husband Gilbert and children J.R., Roy and Brandon of Prescott Valley; Heath Hartzell, wife, Shiloh and children Shekira, Cheyenne and Hayden of Elko, Nev.; Vanessa Hartzell and children Dylan and Victoria of Bagdad, Ariz.; R.J. Hammon and daughter Sarah of San Jose, Calif.; Kelsey Furnice, husband Ryan and son Tobias of Boise, Idaho. Jerri was born Geraldine Wonona Ham, in Oklahoma City, Okla., on October 24, 1923, to John and Jewel Ham; who have preceded her in death. Jerri and Roy lived and raised their family in Phoenix, Bagdad and Prescott Valley since 1946. Over the years, Jerri worked for Motorola and owned a café with her parents in Phoenix. She and Roy B. owned and operated a bar, restaurant and motel business in Bagdad, Ariz. She, of course, tended to her household, husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who call her, "Greatest". We will all miss her ready smile and hug for everyone; her wonderful personality and sense of humor, which her brother, John, says came from her mother, Jewel. Services will be held on Monday, August 22, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7885 East Long Look Drive, Prescott Valley; followed by graveside services at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Ariz., off the Loop 101, at 1 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Prescott or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Arizona in Jerri's name. (Information provided by survivors.)
