Lucille Haymore Bulechek passed away Sunday, August 21, at the home of her daughter. Born August 27, 1916, in Mesa, Ariz., to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haymore. She was the 10th of 15 children to be born in the Haymore family and she was the 10th of the children to pass away. Her family moved to Prescott when she was 14 to start the Haymore Dairy, which was located on White Spar Road.
She met her future husband, Don Bulechek, at Prescott High School. They were married September 7, 1935, at the Haymore family home, which is now the Prescott Pines Inn on White Spar Road. Four children were born to them, Donnie, Donna, Larry and Gary.
Lucille helped her husband Don run a successful gasoline business which they later sold to daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Roy Bennett; it is now known as Bennett Oil. They also had the Holsum Bread Agency which they later sold to Faith and John Blair and it continues as Blair Bakery.
Lucille served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of the Smoki people and served as a volunteer for the West Yavapai Guidance Thrift Store, Samaritan Village Thrift Store and Birthline.
She was preceded in death by her son Donnie in 1975 and her husband Don in 1976.
She is survived by daughter Donna and her husband Roy Bennett of Prescott; son Gary and his wife Sherrie Bulechek of Gilbert, Ariz.; and son Larry Bulechek of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters Eva Johnson, Veda Ethington, Millie Armstrong and Ruth Dennett; one brother, Doug Haymore; 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Relief Society Room at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1101 Sandretto Drive.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery following the service.
