SANDERSON, William Carroll

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Saturday, October 9, 2010 July 1, 1933 — Oct. 6, 2010 William (Bill) Carroll Sanderson, 77, of Lake Havasu City, returned home to the Lord with his family and loved ones at his bedside, wishing him a peaceful journey. He was born on July 1, 1933, in Chicago to Carl and Clara Marie Sanderson. Bill served his country and community with courage, integrity and pride as a U.S. Marine corporal and Los Angeles city firefighter. America and the U.S. flag meant respect and dignity to Bill, and he proudly flew the US flag daily over his home. His journey on earth started in Chicago and traveled through Los Angeles, South Pasadena, Calif., Parker and finally Lake Havasu City. He touched many throughout the communities with his sense of humor, and a smile was always present on his face. He loved to golf and to be boating on the river and Lake with his family and friends. His dogs adored him and they could do no wrong in Bill’s eyes. Bill will be missed deeply every day of the rest of our lives and will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers until the days we are reunited with him in the Kingdom of God. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lolita Sanderson; daughters, Vicki, Colleen and Kathy; sons, Greg and Tim; grandchildren, Matt, Kevin, Chris, Carly, Kyle, Nick, Claire and Sean; a delightful great-granddaughter, Chloe; and his beloved dogs, CJ, Bogie and Fritz. A family gathering will take place at a yet to be determined time and location to celebrate his passing. In lieu of flowers and cards, the family requests that you take a moment to tell your loved ones how important family and friends are to you in your life here on earth and share the love you feel for them in your heart by taking the time to tell them how much they truly mean to you. God bless all of you and God bless America. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.lakehavasumortuary.com. Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory.
