BELL, Steven Lee

The Payson Roundup, Payson, AZ Friday, October 8, 2010 Steven Lee Bell 1958-2010 Steven Lee Bell was born March 21, 1958 to proud parents, Barbara and Donavon Bell. They, in turn, gave him two great brothers, Leonard Wayne and Danny, who had three special children of his own. Steve was the big brother and probably got the two boys into a lot of trouble through the years living in the desert. His love of family was instilled in him from an early age and helped make him into a wonderful father to four — Scott Ford, Heath Bell, Amber Hylen and Wayne Bell (and actually with a few others that were brought around by his children and thrown into the mixture because they needed a father too). A brick mason by trade, he shared his talents with the young masons coming up —“that kid has potential.” There are many buildings he is proud of — it was always that pride in what he could do that people in the industry admired. He eventually met and married Carol and added her two children, Amy and Bo Ahl, to his family. Suddenly, or so it seemed, there were 13 and 1/4 grandchildren — and the name “grandpa” meant so much to him. Another side of his life — put him on a horse or a mule named “Too Tall” — he was in heaven, remembering things from yesteryear. He was a cowboy and a gentleman. He stepped off his pony Oct. 4, 2010 with his children, his wife and some of his best friends by his side. He will be sorely missed and will be remembered for the love he shared with so many. The Moose organization has set up a Steve Bell Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank. Anyone wanting to donate to the fund may do so at any Wells Fargo Bank and ask a teller to make the deposit. Proceeds will help to defray medical expenses and funeral costs. Carol Bell’s work associates have also created a memorial fund at Chase Bank. Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8 a Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive, with burial following at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park, Round Valley. A reception following the burial will be held at the Greater Payson Moose Lodge in Star Valley.
