Arizona Republic (Phoenix AZ) Thursday, August 26, 2010 Ted R Grubb Jr, 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Black Canyon City on Friday August 20, 2010. Ted is survived by his brother Arley snd sister-in-law Rhonda (Prescott), daughter Natalie Baquerizo (Coeur D'Alene ID), son Eric Grubb (Santa Ana CA), grandson Joey (CA) and the love of his life Teresa Brown (BCC). He was preceded in death by his father Ted Sr, mother Dora and son-in-law Wally Baquerizo. For many years Ted owned his own excavation business. Ted "loved to play in the dirt." Recently Ted and Teresa opened and operated Granny's Thrift Store. Ted was affectionately known as "Mr Granny." Ted loved to play Texas Hold'Em and Bingo. He was a lifelong fan of NASCAR. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 1:00pm in the Black Canyon City Community Church, 3495 S Phyliss St, Black Canyon City AZ. Following the service there will be a celebration of Ted's life at Albin's Community Center. Ted was a loving and caring man who donated his body to research to help others. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: 33680 S Mud Springs Rd, Black Canyon City, AZ 85324 and they will be donated to one of Ted's favorite charities.
