ROGERS,
Janice
(Maiden Name: Bartlett)
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ April 26, 2007
Janice Bartlett Rogers died peacefully surrounded by her children and family from complications relating to a four-year long battle with leukemia. She had just celebrated her 43rd birthday.
Jan was a native Tucsonan. She was a loving mother, daughter and sister. She worked as a heavy equipment operator and was employed with Sundt Corporation for many years. She was the 10th of 11 grandchildren of John S. Sundt, who started M.M. Sundt Construction Company, and Marion R. Sundt.
She loved horses and shared that love with her daughter, Korie, who is an avid rider. Jan was also a trained auto mechanic, and when she was younger, raced a car that she built out of an old Camero. Her love of excitement is shared by her son, Dustin, who enjoys riding ATV's.
Jan loved the White Mountains, where she lived for several years and hoped to return some day. Jan was able to have some healthy times throughout her long battle with leukemia, and even though she was leukemia-free at the time of her death, complications from her last transplant were not to be overcome. God decided it was time to take our beautiful angel with him. Jan will always be in our hearts and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, John F. Bartlett, and her brother, John Sidney Bartlett.
She is survived by her two children, Korie Ella Rogers of Tucson, and by her son, Dustin Kay Rogers of Phoenix; her mother, Marijohn Sundt and sister Mari Bartlett, both of Tucson; brothers Fred (Mariza) Bartlett and Kenny Bartlett, both of Southern California; and the father of her children, Bart Rogers of Phoenix.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jan's name to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, at 11 a.m., Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 East Adams St., Tucson. The church phone number is (520) 327-6857. There will be a reception at the church after the ceremony.
Arrangements were by Evergreen Mortuary and Cemetery.
