The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ April 26, 2007 Ana Maria "Anita" Nava, 78, of Eagar died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Flagstaff Medical Center of natural causes. She was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Lindsay, Calif., to Candelario and Socorro Yrigoyen. She was the fourth of 11 children. Her early years were spent in Durango, Mexico. On March 10, 1950, she married Manuel S. Nava. To this union four daughters were born. In 1956 she moved with her husband and young daughter to Springerville. She was a resident of Round Valley for over 50 years. "Anita" was a devoted wife and mother to her husband, "Guerro," and four daughters. She was very proud to have been one of the first Jehovah's Witnesses in the Round Valley area. She will be remembered as a faithful servant of Jehovah, a generous and classy friend, a loving mother and grandmother. We will miss hearing her sing, her delicious enchiladas, and her "gusto de vivir" (love of life). She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Terry) Pollock of Yukon, Okla., Rachel Nava (Richard Ward) of Gillette, Wyo., Rebecca Bell of Pinetop and Ruth (David) Baker of Patterson, N.Y.; grandchildren Amy Pollock Salda, Desiree Pollock, Jacob and David Nava-Mercado, Abigail Nava Ward and Joshua, Zachary, Seth, Jessica, and Ian Bell. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. Ana was preceded in death by her husband, two infant sons, her parents and three siblings. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Hwy. 180 N. 287, in Eagar at 3 p.m.
