WICKER, Eugene Vincent


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, October 12, 2010 Eugene Vincent Wicker passed away Oct. 8, 2010, in Lake Havasu City at the age of 83. Gene, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on Jan. 28, 1927, in Crossett, Texas, to J.G. and Willie May (Henry) Wicker. Following high school, Gene attended college for two years majoring in business administration. He began working for U.P.S. for a brief time, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving his country for six years. Gene and his wife, Jan, moved to Lake Havasu City 18 years ago from Lakewood, Calif. He worked as a security guard for ProBuild for the past seven and a half years. One of Gene’s favorite pastimes was bowling. Gene is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jan Wicker; son, Ken Luney and his wife, Jody, of Gold Hill, Ore.; daughters, Carol Panagos and her, husband, Jim, of Lake Havasu City, and Debra Napzok and her husband, Al, of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; grandchildren, Steve Panagos, Jerry Panagos, Jane Cartwright, Tyler Luney, Kenny Napzok and Katie Napzok; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
