Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, October 12, 2010 E.L. McClure Aug. 25, 1925 – Oct. 2, 2010 E.L. (Mac) McClure, 85, passed away Oct. 2, 2010, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Alex, Okla., to Emmett and Pearl (James) McClure. Mac enjoyed golf, fishing, yard work and working on crossword puzzles. Mac had a full life since finishing high school in Cox City, Okla. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II with overseas duty on Okinawa and other western Pacific Islands and on the Chinese mainland. He received his diamond-studded 25-year service award from Halliburton Co., and later retired in 1977 after 31 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joy; four daughters; Karen (Gary) Kampschror, of Lake Havasu City, Barbara McClure, of Phoenix, Ginger McClure, of Lake Havasu City, and Nancy (Gary) Richardson, of Duncan, Okla.; one brother, Ben (Naomi); one sister-in-law, Gwen (Ned) Daniels; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly Kay; brother, L.C. McClure; sister, Ruth Culp; and nephew, J.C. Culp. Funeral services took place at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel on Oct. 5.
