The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 22, 2007 Nancy Lee Baker, 60, died March 21, 2007, at her home in Woodruff. She was born Jan. 22, 1947, in Casa Grande. Her family moved to Payson when she was 8 years old. She attended school there, graduating in 1965. She met Dee Baker in 1969, and they were married in Mexico Dec. 17, 1971. They made their home in Joseph City where Nancy was primarily a homemaker; the only exceptions were driving a school bus, working at the restaurant in Joseph City and working at Wal-Mart where she retired in 1999. She loved to read, watch movies, crochet and take long drives. Nancy is survived by her husband, Dee Baker of Woodruff; four sons, Earl Baker of Van Horn Texas, David Baker of Wazula, Miss., Scott Weatherford of Woodruff and B.J. Baker of Holbrook; three brothers, James "Jeff" W. Camp, of Woodruff, John Camp of Texas and Richard Camp, Jr. of Overgaard; four sisters, Betty Nelson of Paulden, Ruth Glover of Taylor, Peggy Crabtree of Reserve, N.M., and Linda Camp of Star Valley; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, at the Joseph City Chapel, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
