Robert Edward Lofgreen, 67, died April 4, 2007, at private extended care in Anchorage, Alaska.
Mr. Lofgreen was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Bell, Calif. He served three years in the U.S. Navy. In January 1994 he moved to Alaska, living in Anchorage but ending up claiming his residency in Wasilla.
Mr. Lofgreen was employed by the Fuller Brush Company, and the U.S. Postal Service from which he retired. He was also a custom knife maker (LOF Custom Knives). Mr. Lofgreen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of his hobbies included custom knife making and hunting.
His family stated, "Bob was the oldest child of nine children. He was a father to ten children. He was generous, kind and fun-loving. He loved his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor. He loved the gospel and taught how to live it through his example. He was a devoted husband and father. He is loved by all."
Mr. Lofgreen is survived by his wife, Alice of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter Colleen of Livermore, Calif.; son Sterling of Wasilla, Alaska; son Daniel of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter Charlene of Pahoa, Hawaii; daughter, Verlene (Zolari) of Willow, Alaska; daughter Kathleen of Eugene, Ore.; son Jeramiah of Pahoa, Hawaii; son Aaron of Pahoa, Hawaii; daughter Ann Marie of Pahoa, Hawaii; brother Eugene of California; sister JoAnne of California; brother Joseph of Florida; sister Jenny of Arizona; sister Beverly of Utah; brother John of Alaska; brother James of Arizona; and brother Richard of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his son David, mother Virginia and father Joseph N.
A viewing was held April 6 at the Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla, Alaska. A graveside service followed at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery. Bishop Jimmy LaVioe officiated at the service. There was also a memorial service April 7 at the LDS church.
