DALLAM, Ryan Scott Michael, (Corporal)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ April 9, 2007 Corporal Ryan Scott Michael Dallam, U.S. Army, was born Sept. 22, 1982. in Norman, Okla. to Scott and Laura Ann Dunmire-Dallam and died Friday, April 6, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq while serving honorably as an infantry soldier with Headquarters Company, 1st of the 18th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. Ryan was deployed to Iraq while serving in Germany after finishing basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. Ryan's First Communion was at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Midwest City, Okla. Ryan graduated from Show Low High School, in December 2002. Ryan attended Okla. City Community College. Ryan loved his family, friends, music, art and his dog, JoJo. Ryan is survived by his mother, Laura Ann Dunmire-Dallam presently of Show Low. His father, Ret. LTC Scott Dallam and Leslie Dallam. He is survived by his sister Tayler, brother Jason, and aunt Carla Waugh all of Norman, Okla. Ryan is also survived by his grandmother, Jamie Dunmire of Henryetta, Okla., and grandfather Ret. Col Harold Dallam of Norman; uncle Andy Dunmire and aunt Virginia of Okemah, uncle Mark Bailey of Tulsa, Okla., cousins, Amber, Shane and Logan Dunmire, Travis and Jeremy Bailey and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George R. Dunmire, World War II veteran, and his grandmother, Florence Dallam, and aunt Diana Dallam Bailey; and his grandparents, Eldean and Carlisle Waugh. A memorial service will be held April 10 at Headquarters Company, 1st of the 18th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division in Baghdad, Iraq. Ryan will also have a memorial service at the First Christian Church, Norman, Okla., Thursday, April 12, at 4:30 p.m. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at Fort Sill/Lawton, Okla. The interment will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery.
