The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 15, 2010 Amelia “Emily” Baca, 79, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, in Eagar. She was born July 19, 1931, in St. Johns to Erasmo and Avaloi Jaramillo. Emily was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and her family. She liked reading Tony Hillerman books, doing puzzles, spending time watching her kids and grandkids play softball/baseball, and roasting and eating chile. Emily was ornery and spoke her mind. She was never found without praying her Rosary, drinking Miller Genuine, and eating chocolate. She is survived by sons Esequiel “Kelly” Emilio Baca, Jr. and Fernando Baca of Eagar; daughter Abbey (Dean) Walker of Eagar; brother Erasmo (Maria) Jaramillo Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister Gladys (Wally) Ott; seven grandchildren, Christina, Angela, Kainan Fernando, Fallon Emily, Dino, Tonya, and Montana; three great-grandchildren and ‘two on-the-way’. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Esequiel “Boots” Baca, granddaughter Kelley Rochelle Baca, favorite brother Niche Jaramillo, and her brother Dave Jaramillo. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Springerville. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, also at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
