TYLER, George, MD


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, October 16, 2010 George Tyler MD, died Oct. 1, 2010 at the Crossing Hospice Family Care in Prescott, Ariz. He was born Nov. 7, 1919 in Washington the son for William LV and Lillian (Clay) Tyler. George was 90 years old. George practiced for most of his medical career in the Los Angeles area. He was a member of the AMA, CMA, LACM and ABCRS and medical societies. He loved the good weather of California. Family members fondly remember the Tyler's enjoyment of traveling. He and Ruby would stop at a scenic stream; Ruby would set up her easel and paint while George would set up his camera and capture the scene with photos. George was adored by Ruby's family who readily loved and adopted, Laura as one of their own after Ruby's death. In Prescott, friends and family remember the many fun times spent at the Pine Cone Inn. George loved all music especially jazz. He attended many a jazz parties and recorded jazz. Jazz was such a big part of life and he did it consistently year after year; first with Ruby and lastly with Laura. George is survived by Laura; niece Kim Martindale; the children and extended family of his beloved Ruby, who preceded him in death. George was also preceded in death by Laura's and his daughter Tamara. George is also survived by Valmere Lynn Kasala and Dr. Steven Kinigstein, their "Jazzdad" and longtime friends, Jane and Robert Nixon, Anne and Al White, Dr. Irene Royko and Richard Michelson, Lou and Willie Rubottom, Jean and Blais Wight, and Nadine (Nicky) Collins. George's wishes where to send a beautiful keepsake heart urn to be buried with Ruby in Washington and also to be inurned in Forest Lawn, waiting for Laura to join him there.
